Dooley and Dixie

Dooley and Dixie are our American Bulldog children. These are no ordinary dogs, they are expressionistic, loving, protective, goofy, slobbery, expensive, and last but not least they are our babies. We got Dooley about 2.5 years ago when we were engaged. This was a big step for us because Mike always said no dog would come into HIS house and by NO means would they get on HIS furniture. I always laughed when he said this and when Dooley came home all those "rules" went right out the window. He became our baby very quickly and before to long he was allowed in our bed to snuggle and laid claim to the chair in the living room as his bed. Dooley lived the typical only child role until we got a wild hair last April and decided that Dooley needed a sister. We got on the Internet and fell in love with a little fat bulldog that we knew was the perfect addition. I quickly called the breeders and traveled 3 hours to get her. When I got home we decided her name would be Dixie and Dooley quickly welcomed her into the family by giving her a slobber bath. They have both been through some changes this year with us moving and but they have done great. Now, they have their own bed in our bedroom and they are not allowed on our new furniture. It took getting some used to but now they don't try unless they are really excited. They have a great back yard to play in and have a nice place under our porch to lay and relax. Dixie is mischievous as you can tell in previous posts but both her and Dooley are great companions and well they are getting us ready for a child, that is for sure.
