Disney World - Part 2

Wednesday was our day to go to Animal Kingdom because we had reservations for a late character breakfast at Tusker House. We got there and headed straight to the restaurant. While we were waiting to be seated, one of us went to get fast passes for Kilimanjaro Safari since it is a major attraction that gets long lines fast.
We ate a leisurely breakfast and met with the characters (Donald, Daisy, Mickey, and Goofy). Brae liked meeting all the characters and getting signatures. I have read again and again that MOST character meals are for the experience, not necessarily for the food. I would say this is true. I am glad we went, but not necessarily go back again to this particular restaurant.

After breakfast we headed straight to the safari to use our fast passes. We enjoyed this experience, but it was id say equivalent to the ATL zoo except we got to ride through in a big "safari" truck.  Brae liked it but held my hand tight!

After the safari we got on the train to ride to the Rafiki's. There Brae searched for different kinds of insects, went to a petting zoo, and had her pic taken with Rafiki.

Next, we headed to Expedition Everest for Mike to ride the rollercoaster. Brae wanted to go SO bad, but she was about 3in too short. =( Personally, I think it would have terrorized her, but she wanted to go SO bad. He got in the single rider line and was able to ride without a wait. When he got done I decided I wanted to go. Brae was a trooper and waited patiently for us to get done...of course having a lunchable (she did not eat hardly anything at breakfast) handy helped A LOT!

After Everest, we trekked to other end of the park to watch The Festival of the Lion King. It was a good show and we enjoyed watching it. Next, we met Pocahontas and decided to call it a day. It was around 5 at this point and the park closes at 6 so we decided to head out on our bus and have an early night. We ended up going off the property again for supper (so glad we did this!)

Overall Animal Kingdom was just ok, in our book. We love the ATL zoo and it felt a lot like that to us.

Up next is the final 2 days of our trip! Stay tuned!
